This 1913 foursquare was purchased in 2002 by designers and spouses Jill Kessenich and Steve Tesmer. Major updating included the usual mechanical systems and exterior repairs, but also painting every room, refinishing the maple floors, touching up plaster and woodwork, and installing period lighting. In recent years, the couple also expanded their main bath into part of a 4th bedroom, creating a luxurious suite with two pedestal sinks, a tiled-in shower, and inner room with toilet and clawfoot tub. The other 1/3 of the bedroom became a walk-in closet for Jill. Just this year, Steve and Jill took on a major renovation of their 50’s era kitchen, adding more counter and cabinet space with inset maple cabinets in an eggnog finish, and salvaged Douglas fir, from old school bleachers.
